Long walk turns into long sleep

Posted in Sam Talk by Mike on May 22nd, 2006 at 9:23 am

We took a long walk yesterday.  We borrowed Jeff and Kim’s jogging stroller and strapped Sam into it.  It was a little chilly, so we bundled him up.  Oliver went too, because if you mention ‘going for a walk’ in the house you pretty much have to take him, because he knows what that means and he gets all riled up.  We walked to the front of our subdivision, around the park, and back.  Round trip it’s probably 2.5 miles or so.  Sam liked the ’smooth as butter’ ride that the jogging stroller walker provided with its 40 psi inflated tires.  I don’t think he liked the sun in his face, but he didn’t complain too much.  He’s a good kid.

We put him to bed at 8pm, and he slept until 5am!  9 hours, can you believe it?  A new world record.  Previously he had only slept as long as 7 hours, and I think that was only one time and it was like a month ago.  So of course, we’re going for a walk again tonight.

Let's go Dad, I'm ready!

Sam’s Catholic!

Sam was baptized into our Catholic church this past weekend. He slept through the entire mass and was wide awake for his baptism!  He did great - no tears!  There were 19 other children being baptized, as well.  It was a beautiful ceremony.  Kim and Jeff Chiappetta are Sam’s godparents. Sam wore a family baptisimal gown - the gown is 62 years old.

Mike’s mom, sister and Sam’s cousin, Gage, came into town for the occasion. We had lunch for everyone at our house afterwards. My family, Rita and Erik Finwall, and Tanya and Bill Hahn also came for the baptism and lunch.  Sam slept in his swing through the entire party!

i'm wearing a dress!
