Cindy’s science experiment is a success!
Everyone has made fun of the fact that I’ve blended up avacados, poured in an ice-cube tray and froze for Sam to eat his next “fruit.” Here’s my little science experiment…kinda gross looking, huh?
Today we thawed for the first time and let Sam try it! Once again, he loved it! How many pictures of Sam with food all over his face can one parent take, you say? Well, a lot…in fact, we have gotten out the camera every week when a new food is introduced to him…pretty cute, huh?
Sam’s First Indiana State Fair
We took Sam to the Indiana State Fair last weekend. We had a ball, and were anticipating Sam having fun too. Well, he wasn’t to sure about the animals! Mike took him out of the stroller and went up to the horse, sheep, goat and pig stalls. He took one look at the sheep and the sheep took one look at him and let out a huge “BAAHHHHHHH.” It scared Sam so bad…his bottom lip came out and he started screaming. Everyone around us giggled at him, we felt so bad! Maybe next year he’ll enjoy it.
My two best friends
Sam was finally able to join his two friends Ben and Sasha for some quality couch time! We had fun watching the kids together…sooner or later it’ll be hard to keep them still for a picture!
A weekend of firsts for Sam
A couple of weekends ago, Sam had a weekend complete with several “firsts:”
- We went for our first bike ride! Mike hooked the trailer to his bike and off we went. Sam slept pretty much 3/4 of the time…he woke up when we turned around as soon as we realized our neighborhood coffee shop didn’t open until 11am on Sunday mornings. Imagine that…well, he enjoyed himself, despite a crook in his neck!!
- Sam went swimming with Mike! He really loves bathtime, but wasn’t too sure of the pool, and the fact that he couldn’t touch bottom. He kept trying to stand up…
- Sam rolled over - again and again! He’s been rolling from one side to the other for some time, but this weekend, he kept doing it over and over! He’s getting really good at it! And…he’s wanting to go somewhere…
- Sam loves peaches!
- Sam’s teeth finally popped through! He feels so much better now!
Yummy Green Beans
This morning I found some fresh green beans from the Farmer’s Market in the freezer, so I decided to thaw, steam and whip ‘em up for Sam’s first “green” food! We plopped him in his Bumbo seat and tried them. He loved them!!! He kept opening his mouth for more! It was hysterical! Of course, they were mushed all over his face, so Mike took tons of pictures!
We can’t believe he’s already 5 months old with two teeth. Sam is such a sweet little boy…
