Big Boy rooms are cool!!

Posted in Sam Talk by Cindy on July 30th, 2007 at 9:49 am

We have been working to finish Sam’s big boy room for a couple of months now…and last night was his first sleepover in his new digs! We moved him across the hall to an awesome blue room, complete with a front door view, and a cool ceiling fan. We were nervous about the move, but he did great…he went to bed at 7pm and woke up at 7am. I thought, for sure, he would wake up in the middle of the night and not know where he was and cry for us, but he didn’t!

Grandpa Barnett is coming today from Tennessee to pick up Grandma, after a fun-filled 3 weeks! Grandma has been wonderful taking care of Sam, cooking, cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning! It’s made the last 3 weeks of bedrest a lot of fun! :)

Aunt Lisa and cousin Gage came on Saturday to play and have lunch together. The boys loved eachother, but didn’t really “play” together until it was almost time for them to go home. They enjoyed splashing in the pool and chasing Oliver around the house! Poor Oliver…he hid in his kennel for the rest of the day.

That’s all for now…the countdown is 10 more days of bedrest…and 31 days until Baby Barnett arrives!

We’re alive!

Hi everyone!  We’re back and busy as ever!  Sam is a busy, walking, talking toddler! He keeps us on our toes and laughing every day. He’s so happy and loves being outside, loves being with friends and family, and loves to read. He enjoys his first baby pool and sprinkler, but would rather squirt mommy and daddy with the hose. He’ll start Mother’s Day Out in September…the toddlers go one day a week for 4 hours. They have snack time, craft time, play time, lunch and quiet time. His backpack is all ready to go!

Things have changed a bit around here…Mike started his MBA at The University of Chicago in June. He goes to class every other Friday and Saturday in Chicago…and loves it so far. He has met some amazing people, enjoys his professors, and studies almost every night after Sam goes to bed.  Work is keeping him busy too. Oh…and I can’t forget his farming…we have cucumbers, squash, red peppers, yellow peppers, green peppers, two kinds of tomatoes, green beans, japalenos, habaneros, basil, thai basil, oregano, and rosemary in our backyard! It’s fun keeping everything alive, and we especially enjoy eating everything! :) Grilled squash, cucumbers in our salad, and of course, every kind of pesto dish we can think of! Keep your fingers crossed for our beans…we’ve been hit with the “bean beetles!”
This weekend marks 32 weeks prego for me…and as most of you know…I’m on bedrest again. Same exact issue as with Sam. This time…however…has been much harder with a toddler running around!!  Everything has worked out really well, though - Nini and Papa help tremendously and Grandma Barnett is staying with us for three weeks of this month. Miss Olivia comes to our house a couple times each week to be with Sam and he has gone to Miss Heather’s again to play with his old friends from daycare. Sam’s having a blast this summer so far! He especially loves being with Aunt Kim and his three fun cousins, Kate, Matt, and Nick.  I go to the dr. every week and knock on wood, things have been perfect so far. This baby is big, though!!  Probably will be a little bigger than Mr. Sam.
I promise to keep the website updated!
