WOW…so behind…the 10 last months…
OK, so it’s totally official. I’m. So. Behind. In. My. Blogging. Yep, 10 months folks. And I’m not happy about it! Either is my hubby. We love being able to look back at our crazy life…and I have just not made the time! I’m still taking lots and lots of pictures, so that will help my journaling.
I have looked through our directories, and selected my favorite photo of each month. This was more difficult than it sounds. Each picture is special, for many different reasons.
April 2009 brought Easter Egg Coloring…Sam was very serious about following the rules of Egg coloring; Maggie, not so much. We also went to our first Elmo show at the Murat and was still celebrating Mike’s awesome graduation from Chicago - and loving the extra time he has with us!

In May 2009, Mike and I went to Churchill Downs to watch the races with Adam and Cara - and other WKU Alum. It was nice to see lots of pledge sisters and enjoy a day together. Mother’s Day was a wonderful day…

June 2009 brought Sam to his first Swimming lessons, St. Simon Festival, and Father’s Day. Mike had a great day swimming with the kids and smoking ribs on the grill. He truly is the best daddy! Sam also enjoyed summer camps at the Fishers Parks and Rec. Strawberry picking was the highlight for the kids…

Three and 18 months
Sam had a wonderful 3rd birthday party celebrated at school and with our family. He is totally into Dora and Diego these days, so the Dora pinata was a hit with the kids. Maggie turned 18 months in the same week. They both are too wild for their own good! They LOVE being outside these days….both start crying (yikes!) when it’s time to come inside. Hopefully the novelty will wear off a little…..

December, January, February

I almost forgot….6 years! Woohoo!
We celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary in October too! 6 years…woohoo! Don’t we look the same? Ha!

Is it the next month?
I can’t believe it….we went one whole month without a post. And so much has happened in that month! I tried to talk Mike into writing something witty on September 30th, so we didn’t skip a month, to no avail. So here goes….Maggie turned ONE! She’s awesome! We had lots of fun celebrating her day…we celebrated for a week! Mike’s mom and dad came in town for her official party. She is walking behind her baby stroller, “talking” up a storm, and always smiling. She’s still a little feisty in her old age…wonder where she gets that from?
Mike and his dad were able to go to the Bears/Colts game at the new stadium…talk about an awesome place! They were both in heaven - the Bears won!
Mike was in Chicago for an extended week for the last weeks of the international swap for the summer. He had a lot of fun…we can’t believe he graduates in less than 6 months! I’m already planning his graduation weekend in the Windy City! WooHoo! Can’t wait!
Sam is doing great - after a brief two weeks of not wanting to go to Preschool (crying when I pull in the parking lot and saying, “Mommy, go back home, I need a ban-baid because I have a new boo-boo!”) to ASKING to go to school the minute he wakes up! How quickly thing change. He has learned so many new things and even made an apple pie in class! Next week, he goes on his first field trip to the pumpkin patch! Maggie and I get to tag along too! Later this month, he’ll take his pumpkin and his daddy to “Dads and Pumpkins Night!” Mike is pumped about that one!
I am getting geared up for the big 10-year reunion at WKU! Yep, 10 years folks. Scary. What’s even scarier is that it means it has been 14 years since high school graduation. I’m meeting up with some of the KD girls, going to the alumni tea, and then tailgating at the game. (New outfit for me, you know, because below the Mason Dixon Line, you dress up for the game. hmmmmm) That evening we’re doing a ladies dinner at a little restaurant in the Square. Should be fun…I’m so looking forward to seeing everyone!
We went to the apple orchard to pick apples and play. The kids had a great time…the weather was just beautiful!
We’re working on Maggie and Sam’s costumes for Halloween…well, poor Mags - she gets a hand-me-down - from her brother! She’s going to be a bumblebee - the cutest little bee ever! And Sam, well, he asked to be an iPod. Ok, so off to Michael’s I went. Glad I went last week, because I think this one will take awhile to create!
Here are some pictures of the last month! Enjoy…happy Fall!

So busy…
It’s been so long since we’ve posted anything…..we’re still waiting on Mike to finish his London trip blog….and yes, he’s home! We had a wonderful time in London together! We had lunch and dinner together every night, in between Mike’s classes. We went to the theater, shopped, ate and drank! The highlight was experiencing Mr. Van Morrison in concert. It was an outdoor concert, so we brought winter coats and a picnic. I brought wine, cheese, and bread from my excursion to Paris…it was yummy! I really enjoyed Paris with my college and after-college roomie, Amy C. Jones. Here is a picture from our boat cruise on the Sienne River in Paris. Yes, we’re pimping for a spot in the WKU Alumni magazine.

Sam is doing great…he had “Meet the Teacher” day today and loved being back at “his school.” It took a minute to understand that he was going to be in a different room, with different teachers. After 5 minutes of being there, he loved it! Yippee! Maggie, oh, Miss Maggie. She’s a highly energetic little girl! And she’s going to be one-year-old on Sunday! We cannot believe it…the time has gone by so much faster than Sam’s first year. Why is that?! She’s all over everything and will be walking soon. She loves to eat and laugh! Sometimes at the same time.

Kick and scoop - in the pool together!
Sam and Maggie had a great time this weekend…they both love their “swimmy school” and probably will be sad when our classes end this week. Sam has been learning how to kick, “scoop,” blow bubbles, jump off the side, etc. etc. Maggie and I do her class together - we just kick and splash! And sing “Wheels on the bus” several times over! They love the water - thank goodness!

Same size diapees

Summer is here, it’s official!

Fair, Pizza Train, and the pool
We had a busy weekend! Friday evening, we took the kids to the Hamilton County Fair - small, but so managable. Sam and Maggie loved the animals and Mike and I enjoyed the lamb BBQ and sirloin sandwiches. (Not together - two different sandwiches!) It was probably the hottest afternoon of the year, but we had fun. Sam loved when the roosters “cock-a-doodle-dooed!” He was a little skidish of the bigger animals at first. He loved the little guys in cages!

Saturday night, we took the “Pizza Train” to Pizza King. (This was especially cool, because Mike had been craving pizza ever since he returned home from Singapore. Apparently, they don’t have pizza there.) We boarded the train in Noblesville, rode 45 minutes north, got off, boarded a school bus (the highlight of the trip for Sam), rode 5 minutes down the road (did you know school buses do not have air conditioning?), arrived at Pizza King (my brother used to be a delivery guy there in high school), ate at a $10 pizza buffet, got back on the bus, got back on the train, and arrived back at the station. All in all, it was great fun - but as Mike put it, “a lot of effort for pizza!” Sam had a great time - we enjoyed catching up with Erik, Rita, and their son Jack (and soon to be baby boy Maverick, arriving 8/15).

Sunday, we went to the YMCA for some swimming….Sam loved jumping in the deep end with Mike, and Maggie was a crazy girl in the wading pool. I put her down for some “splashing,” but within 3.2 seconds, she was off and crawling into the 3 inch water. Ah! I can’t keep my eyes off her! We call her our little thrill seeker. Hmmm…wonder where she gets that from??
Her toofers finally popped through, but alas, there are more coming. She still loves to eat, drink, and be merry! We cannot believe she will be one soon!
